As fans of the duo's expansive and coveted body of work for nearly 20 years, Sun Sea Sky is happy to announce the addition Saso to the label's roster. Saso was formed in Dublin, Ireland in 2000 by Jim Lawler (composer/multi instrumentalist) and Ben Rawlins (producer/recording engineer) who share a unique artistic relationship as a writer and producer partnership. Their music has soft tones, dark electronics and an unrushed pace which offer a slow-motion perspective on fast-forward culture.
The label is now taking pre-orders for the band's 7th studio album Deep Code, to be released on limited edition 12" vinyl + digital [03/23/2021]. Vinyl is limited to 200 copies (opaque red) on 180-200g virgin vinyl, and features 18pt (350gsm) full-color gatefold jacket w/3mm spine and matte machine varnish finish. Spot UV gloss tastefully compliments and accents the gorgeous artwork.
The album continues Saso’s recent musical direction of instrumental compositions using analog synthesizers, upright piano and electronics. The result is an evocative and atmospheric work, which is expansive in nature. Layering a hybrid of textural synthesis and organic composition, Saso takes the listener on a cosmic journey to an unseen world.
