2015 is proving to be a busy year for George Papadopoulos (aka Hior Chronik), whose third full-length album ‘Taking The Vail’ (Kitchen. Label) and collaborative double-vinyl project with Arovane ‘In-between’ (A Strangely Isolated Place) are due to be released within the year. ‘The First Ray’ (Sun Sea Sky Productions) sees Hior Chronik collaborating with prolific Grecian electronica artist Mikaël Delta, and kicks off a semi-regular series of collaborations from the artist on the imprint.

Drones and ambient fields drench this release with an emotional frequency full of strength, inner treasures and awakening - creating an exquisite recording that attempts to transcend the temporal or physical, replacing these instead with the light of consciousness.

'Temples' is the artist's second full-length album, following up the excellent 'Ways to Travel' released on Archaic Horizon in 2014.

Warm, immersive, flowing, laid-back, harmonious, mellow and feel-good are words that can be used to describe Portugal-based Michaël Bijker’s music. Full of chillout, IDM , ambient and chillstep influences, Bijker's music chronicles his many journeys around the globe, featuring field samples and recordings from his travels to locations near and far.

THE CHIP // STILL PROUD

'The Chip' was never reworked for the "What Cheer" full-length released through Anodyne Records. An alternate and acoustic version of 'Still Proud' appeared on that very same release, with this version being decidedly more rock-oriented. The songs feature the *classic* and orginal lineup for the band (with Mike Myers on drums, minus Wade Williamson on guitar).

The 'Alluvial' EP is inspired by geology, human prehistory and the idea of 'deep time' - how incredibly long it has taken the planet to evolve.

I have therefore tried to express a sense of scale, which is in contrast to the more personal landscapes that inspire much of Northcape's material.

The result is this EP which contains four slow-building but still melodic tracks with a more ambient feel.

Some of the tracks are inspired by the idea of human habitation in the distant past, and others by geological space - the release image is pretty much a landscape I was imagining when I was writing the tracks.

Although they are different from my normal approach to melodic electronica (which continues to develop), I think these tracks still keep a recognizable Northcape sound.

This collection of Mokhov remixes features eight hand-picked selections from Melorman's catalog, breathing new life into tracks both new and old alike. Enjoy!
