Lewis And Clarke “Bright Light” - Aiding & Abetting

October 30th, 2007

Sometimes it’s the stuff that sneaks up on you that you remember. Lewis and Clarke has created an unforgettable little disc. There’d better be a whole lot more where this came from.

Lewis And Clarke “Bright Light” - Magnet

October 30th, 2007

On the one hand, Rogai seems desperate in his isolation; the title track shivers from the weight of a Neil Young sense-memory. But there’s serenity, too, particularly on Giant Sand-meets-Bad Seeds desert waltz “No Name Disaster.” Three memorable songs from a gifted newcomer-and housed in an ornate cardboard ring-binder package for maximum tactile impact.

Lewis And Clarke “Bright Light” - Delusions Of Adequacy

October 30th, 2007

The performers all play their parts just right, with maturity and enough perspective and respect for the song to never overplay. In doing so, they create a mournful slow-burning sound that fills the air. It’s a sound that will never tire, never go out of fashion, and hopefully will be delivered in a long-playing format sometime soon.
