Align’s latest, “sing.rock.rhythm.beats”, a six song CDEP sounds a lot like Helmet with not so screamy, sratchy vocals. I would even compare them with the Jesus Lizard. Hard bass lines and prominent, driving guitar make “sing.rock.rhythm.beats” a good listen. Hardcore, yet melodic vocals balance out the disc.

This band has been around for a little while, and as I write this they are on a tour of the Left-Coast. Amazing, energetic, tight, and I’m still talking about the CD case. Melting many influences and writing top-notch songs filled with superb lyrics, this band is one of the best in the local scene, and I might stretch to say one of the most under-appreciated. Intense melodic-hardcore with amazing vocals and a tight one guitar/bass/drums line-up to bring it all home. I’m tempted to put this CD in a juicer to try to squeeze more than these seven songs out of it, but then I wouldn’t be able to listen to it until I got another copy. If TCHCJ used a scale to rate albums, I would have give this a 9/10, taking one point off because there are only seven tracks.
